In the country, L runs a ticker of 5 million corona from Oxford bought from the Seram Institute of India. The consignment arrived at Shahjalal International Airport around 11am on Monday (January 25).

Earlier on the same day at 8:30 am on an Air India flight left for Bangladesh with the vaccine. The vaccine will be taken directly from the airport to Beximco’s Tongi warehouse. Later it will be distributed as per the demand of the government.

Nazmul Hasan Papon, managing director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited and president of the BCB, said Beximco was not bringing any vaccine commercially. As there is no name of the pharmaceutical company in the government list, 1 million doses are being brought only for them. Out of this only BJME can be given. Moreover this vaccine will not be sold commercially outside.

He added that Beximco will supply to 64 districts as per the instructions of the government. They will also make sure that there is no cold chain break anywhere.

On Monday (January 25), Health Minister Zahid Malek said the first consignment of Oxford vaccines had arrived in Dhaka. Earlier, 20 lakh doses of vaccine came to Dhaka but it was a gift from the Government of India to Bangladesh. This is the first consignment of 30 million doses purchased from the Seram Institute of India as per the agreement. The Oxford vaccine will come to Dhaka in 6 stages at a cost of Rs 50 lakh each time.

The vaccine will be tested in government drug laboratories before being distributed across the country.

In the first phase, most of the 24 people interested in getting vaccinated voluntarily are health workers. In this situation, the journalists had a question, health minister, secretary – when will they get vaccinated themselves?

“Many VIPs are trying to get vaccinated but we are not giving them,” he said. We will give frontline workers first, then we will all take. I will take it too. ‘

Meanwhile, Director General of the Department of Health Prof ABM Khurshid Alam said that after 24 people on the first day, 400 to 500 health workers will be vaccinated on the second day.

He also said that the registration app for corona ticker will be handed over to the ICT ministry on Monday (January 25).
