Like the previous week, the capital market has also fallen in the farewell week. All capital market indices declined during the week. At the same time the amount of money traded and the share and unit prices of most companies decreased. However, investors got back their market capitalization of thousands of crores during the week.

It is learned that before the start of trading on the first working day of the week, the market capitalization on the DSE was Tk 4,85,858.26 crore. And at the end of the last working day of the week, the market capitalization stood at 4 lakh 8 thousand 955 crore 54 lakh 8 thousand rupees. In other words, the investors have got back the market capital of Tk 1,298.28 crore in a week.

In the last four working days of the outgoing week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has a turnover of 2 thousand 335 crore 26 lakh 57 thousand 69 rupees. Which is 2 thousand 102 crore 37 lakh 40 thousand 57 taka or 46.38 percent less than the previous week. In the previous week, the transaction was 4 thousand 438 crore 6 lakh 96 thousand 256 taka.

The average turnover in the outgoing week on the DSE was 573 crore 72 lakh 14 thousand 160 taka. The average transaction in the previous week was 8 crore 53 lakh 39 thousand 451 taka. In other words, the average turnover on the DSE during the week has decreased by 303 crore 81 lakh 25 thousand 261 taka.

During the week, the DSE’s main index, the DSEX, fell 59.70 points, or 1.09 percent, to 5,418.39 points. Among other indices, the Shariah Index fell by 16.61 points or 1.34 per cent and the DSE-30 Index by 39.6 points or 1.69 per cent to 1225.8 and 2065.60 points.

In the outgoing week, a total of 365 companies participated in share and unit transactions on the DSE. Among the companies, the share price increased by 121 or 33.15 per cent, decreased by 127 or 34.52 per cent and remained unchanged at 118 or 32.33 per cent.

On the other stock market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) had a turnover of Tk 122.38 crore in the outgoing week. And in the previous week the transaction was 189 crore 45 lakh 21 thousand 558 taka. In other words, the turnover on the CSE during the week has decreased by 48 crore 8 lakh 351 taka or 26.7 percent.

During the week, the overall index of CSE, CASPI, decreased by 160.6 points or 1.08 percent to 15,650.60 points. Other CSE indices include CSCX 103.22 points or 1.08 percent, CSE-30 index 135.58 points or 1.10 percent, CSE-50 index 23.53 points or 1.93 percent and CSI 4.8 points or 0. .49 percent decreased to 9 thousand 441.15 points, 12 thousand 133.61 points, 1 thousand 194.38 points and 98.6 points, respectively.

Shares and units of 283 companies traded on the CSE during the week. Among the companies, prices of 72 or 30.03 per cent increased, 126 or 47.89 per cent declined and 63 or 23.07 per cent remained unchanged.
