Export revenue target was not achieved in January

In January of the current financial year, the export earnings target was not achieved. This month, goods worth ৩ 343.7 million have been exported. Which is 10 percent less than the target.

In January 2020, exports amounted to ৬ 3.61 billion. Compared to last January, the export has decreased by 4.99 percent.
The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Wednesday (February 3rd) released the updated figures on commodity export earnings.

According to the statistics, in the first seven months of the fiscal year 2020-2021 (July-January), exports of goods worth Tk 2,026 crore or Tk 1,95,795 crore were made, which is one point zero nine percent less than the same period of the last fiscal year.

In the first seven months of the current financial year, exports of readymade garments, leather and leather products, frozen products and plastic products declined but exports of jute products, chemicals and handicrafts increased.
