Muminul is above all except Tamim

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal has lost two records in the Chittagong Test. Before this series, Tamim had the record of highest run for Bangladesh in Tests. He also had the highest century.  

However, in the first innings of the current Chittagong Test, Mushfiqur Rahim surpassed Tamim’s highest run in white for the country. This time in the second innings, captain Mominul Haque surpassed Tami in the record of century.

Muminul Haque took the lead in the second innings of Bangladesh from the front today. He played the captaincy innings. After losing 2 wickets for 1 run yesterday, Mushfiqur could not join Muminul. Then Mominul went ahead with Liton Das. 

The captain of Bangladesh’s white jersey scored the 10th century in his Test career. Mominul played 162 balls and scored a century in 9 boundaries. Muminul scored 6 centuries in 10 Tests at the Zahur Ahmed Stadium.

Mominul made a pair of 133 runs with Liton for the fifth wicket. Muminul-Liton is now Bangladesh’s lead of 365 runs.

Muminul is now the highest Test centurion for Bangladesh. So far, he was joint top with Tamim with 9 centuries. Mushfiqur Rahim is after these two. The number of centuries in Tests is 7. The next place belongs to Mohammad Ashraful, 6. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is in the fifth position with 5 centuries.

Meanwhile, despite being the tenth century of his career, this is Mominul’s first century in the World Test Championship. Besides, Mominul scored his seventh century at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
