Nazmul Hasan Papon, managing director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited and president of BCB, said that the second shipment of Corona Ticker will arrive in the country on February 22.

He was speaking to reporters after receiving the vaccine at Kurmitola Hospital in the capital on Monday (February 15th) morning.

He said that this time 20-30 lakh doses of Corona Ticker will come. Vaccination depends on demand. However, he said there was no violation of the agreement.

Papon said there is no chance of a crisis with the vaccine. Cricketers are not being forced to vaccinate anyone. He can take whatever he wants.

Regarding the tour of New Zealand, he said, “If I get the list by Monday, I will vaccinate the cricketers who will visit New Zealand tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.”

He added that 50 per cent of cricketers had been vaccinated by Sunday (February 14) to go to New Zealand. The rest are a bit hesitant. There is time till 2 o’clock today. In this they will be able to give their opinion. In that case they will be vaccinated tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

In the context of the test, he said, the mood is bad when you lose. You feel bad, I feel bad too. Yesterday there was talk of anger. We have world class players. We have to make improvements, this realization has to come.

BCB president Papon said the mindset needs to change. I can’t play without spin, I have to come out of this thought. You have to think about shot selection. The way we got out, no one gets out in this shot. Change in strategy and planning. Long-term plans must be brought. 

“We have to have a separate team for the Tests,” he added.

Earlier, on January 25, a consignment of 5 million corona from Oxford, purchased from the Seram Institute of India, arrived in the country. Earlier, 20 lakh doses of vaccine came to Dhaka but it was a gift from the Government of India to Bangladesh.

This is the second shipment of 30 million doses purchased from the Seram Institute of India. The Oxford vaccine will come to Dhaka in 6 stages at a cost of Rs 50 lakh each time. 

The first 30 people were vaccinated on January 26. The first to be vaccinated was Runu Veronica Costa, a senior staff nurse at Kurmitola General Hospital. Medicine consultant Dr. then took the first vaccination as a doctor. Ahmed Lutfar Mobin, then Additional Director General of the Department of Health (Administration) Professor. Nasima Sultana, Traffic Police member Didarul Islam and Army Brigadier General M Imran Hamid.

According to the Department of Health, the corona vaccine will be delivered to 64 districts of the country by February 1. And from February 8, the coronavirus mass vaccination activities started in the country.
