Listed company Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited has received tax cards and honors as a top taxpayer.

Abul Bashar Hawlader, Additional Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, received tax cards and honors from Tax Commissioner Ahmed Ullah of Tax Zone-4 Dhaka on Thursday (February 11th).

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued a total of 141 tax cards in the categories of individuals, institutions and others in the 2019-2020 financial year. On this occasion, NBR organized a tax card and award ceremony 2020. Revenue officials and tax card holders from all tax regions took virtual part in it.

According to the list of tax card holders, 8 tax cards and honorariums will be given at the individual level, 53 at the company level and 12 at other levels.

According to the National Tax Card Policy 2010, a certain number of individuals, companies and other taxpayers who pay the highest income tax at the national level are nominated for the National Board of Revenue Tax Card on the basis of income tax paid for the previous tax year. Individuals who get a tax card will get 5 special benefits for the next one year.

Out of 6 individual taxpayers, 5 are in the senior citizen category. They are: Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Latifur Rahman, late chairman of Transcom Group, Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills Ltd. Its director Ali Hossain Akbar Ali, Matiur Rahman, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman.

Gazetted war-wounded freedom fighters in the category. Nasir Uddin Mridha, Lt. General Bau Saleh said. Nasim (Retd., Md. Joynal Abedin, Prof. Indubhushan Bhowmik, Abdul Mannan).

Sukarna Ghosh, Akram Mahmud, Dr. in the disability category. Md. Mamunur Rashid. In the women’s category, Laila Hossain, Shahnaz Rahman, Anwara Hossain, Parveen Hasan, Poppy Rani Bhowmik.

Also young under 40; Merchant Salaried; Doctor; Journalist; 5 people will get tax card in lawyer category. Also engineer; Architect; Accountant Players; Actor-actress; 3 people have been nominated in the singer-singer category. On the other hand, 6 people in the new taxpayer category and 3 people in other categories are given for the best taxpayer tax card.

At the company level, 53 tax cards will be issued. Of these, 4 are in the banking sector; 4 in the non-banking financial sector; 3 in telecommunications; 3 for food and accessories; 3 in the energy sector; 3 in the jute industry; 6 in spinning and textile sector; 4 in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors; 4 in print and electronic media; 3 in the housing sector, 8 in the ready-made garment sector; 3 companies in the leather industry and 4 companies in other sectors were given tax cards.

4 in the firm category out of 1 other taxpayer level organizations; 2 in the local authority category; 2 individual associations and 4 organizations in other categories have been given for tax cards.
